Nyssa Ndey
Mindful Productivity GuideHelping you live a life of ease and flow
Hi, I’m Nyssa (they/them)! I am an autistic individual who created Ndey Wellness to help with your unique, neurodivergent needs!
My Story
After being diagnosed for the first time with autism spectrum disorder at the age of twenty-one, I finally received an answer to a long-withstanding question I had about myself. That is, why was I so different. Ever since I could remember, I always felt that the way I thought, spoke, and acted was different from other people. I never quite felt like I fit in and for someone who was socialized as a black girl and, later, a black woman, this status of being “weird” further marginalized me. I could never do anything right, it seemed, and so I learned to mask my traits and lean into perfectionism in order to please others…at the expense of myself.
Luckily, my spiritual and mental health journey allowed me to unlearn these harmful self-sabotaging behaviors. It also allowed me the space to learn more about who I was truly. This meant that I would meet a foray of therapists and psychologists, including the one who diagnosed me with autism. I would become acquainted with ideas like mindfulness, self-compassion, and self-care to better understand and take care of myself. Even better, all of these ideas would later serve me as I embarked on the next phase of this journey: learning how to take care of myself and stay organized as a neurodivergent person.
Now, I can proudly say that I have gotten a good handle on establishing a routine or, rather, a way of life that is meets my unique, neurodivergent needs. While I am by no means perfect (I am still learning!), I feel that I have enough knowledge that I feel comfortable with sharing with other neurodivergent folk the tools and strategies I’ve adopted into my own life.
And, from there, Ndey Wellness was born. 🙂
My Values & Beliefs
Accessibility
As members of a marginalized demographic, it is so important that we utilize our businesses, brands, and platforms to provide resources that are widely accessible so that no one is left behind. As such, I place a large emphasis on making sure my products and services are accessible and people feel they are getting their money’s worth.
Compassion & Empathy
As the adjective suggests, neurodivergent people are a diverse bunch. We all come from a plethora of backgrounds and experiences, all of which are valid. I make it a point to honor the lived experiences of each and every client I work with in order to establish a space of safety and authenticity.
Community Building
Oftentimes we start businesses to earn a living and while that is totally valid, we entrepreneurs can do so much more than that! That is why I try my best to make sure that my brand is bringing people together through interconnectedness and collectivism to ensure that the needs of this community and others are being met. And, in a late-stage capitalist society, it is important now more than ever to make sure we are sticking together rather than apart.
My Approach
As a neurodivergent (I’m autistic) individual myself, I understand firsthand the unique challenges faced by those with diverse cognitive needs. My personal journey of growth and overcoming obstacles has inspired me to support others on their path to mindful productivity and well-being.
Furthermore, I base my coaching based on my own lived experience and the research I’ve done on productivity and mindfulness techniques to help accommodate my neurotype and, hopefully, others. You will find also that my digital products are reflective of this as well.
I hope that in working with me, you find great help in establishing your own mindful productivity routine. 🙂
